My husband and I had a wonderful, romantic vacation stay at the Turtle Dove House in February 2016. The house is amazing, with a roomy interior, nice kitchen, beautiful deck, and a hot tub that we very much enjoyed. The location is close to Smugglers Cove and to great restaurants. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else on Tortola now that we have been there. When we bring our kids next time, the Turtle Dove House will still be a wonderful fit.
We stayed at Turtle Dove for three nights and fell in love with the place. As everyone says, it has the most extraordinary views that one never tires of. Turtle Dove is well appointed with everything one needs to make meals, or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful pace. It’s lovely place to stay and enjoy a holiday on Tortola.
Our host, Rebecca, was so helpful and responsive any time we had questions before the holiday and during our stay. There is plenty of helpful information sent once you book which helps immensely with navigating in a new place. She is top-notch.

Rebecca was a wonderful host. She was kind enough to meet me and my party at the car rental down the street so we could follow her to the house. She was around if we needed anything or had questions. The driveway was very steep but so is every road on the island. It just took a little getting used too as we were first time island travelers (6 total). The house was amazing. The views were spectacular. You could see long bay and apple bay from the balcony. We watched the sunset every night from the table. I had a wonderful view from the bed every morning in the master suite. There is a was a nice breeze through the house too. Long bay was a 10 minute walk away which made the location perfect. We traveled in April and had the beach to ourselves. The house was as pictured. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking including a charcoal grill. The hot tub worked. After checking out other spots on the island we were thrilled with where we choose to stay. There were a handful of good restaurants walking distance on the as well, another bonus. We would all go back in a heartbeat. Thanks Rebecca!
Rebecca was a wonderful host and the cottage was fantastic! The view was unparalleled, with easy access to Sebastian’s and both Apple Bay and Long Bay. Highly endorse this Cottage – perfect for two.
the property was exactly as described in the offer. a very well designed and nicely decorated accomodation with a fantastic view over the bay. I could see the surfers riding the waves every morning. property was provided very clean, tidy, with every kitchen and bathroom facilities you would expect to find at home. there was even a couple of fresh beers and food waiting for us in the fridge, much appreciated after a long travelling, a nice touch
Rebecca is a wonderful host who provided great support and advice about how to reach the property, find the local shops , and went the extra mile to offer us a lift when stranded.
Tortola has very steep roads indeed, i would recommend renting your own car on arrival to reach the property as well as have flexibity touring the island. it is worth it.
From practically the moment we arrived in Tortola BVI, Rebecca’s gracious welcoming and always ready hospitality was evident from the start. Whenever we had a question or sought her advice, it was immediately forthcoming with a special perspective of local knowledge that we so much appreciated. The extremely well maintained Guavaberry Cottage itself met or exceeded our expectations with regard to comfort, spaciousness, cleanliness and the simplicity of island living that we sought. Access to nearby beaches, ports, stores and restaurants was within a few minutes’ drive; and thus a rental car is highly recommended, especially to traverse the steep terrain. The setting, views, steady breeze and soothing murmur of the waves below were sublime. As a further endorsement, we have booked and already look forward to our return stay of longer duration for next year.

Beautiful view of Apple Bay and the islands. Superb deck with morning sunshine & shade and afternoon shade. Nice small kitchen and the grill worked great. Rebecca was very helpful and made us feel at home. Nice place and recommended. We will be back
What a fantastic house with tremendous views and great location on Tortola. Rebecca was fabulous with the house and with directions to market, private beaches and the best places to eat. One of the best homes we have rented! Renting a car almost a must.
My seventh trip to Tortola and my seventh house. This was by far the best. Location was perfect and the views were beyond expectation. I was joined by my son and daughter and my daughter’s fiancé. This was their first time in the BVIs and they enjoyed the house as much as I. House is convenient to 2 of the top 3 restaurants on Tortola, The Sugar Mill and the Bananakeet. Sebastian’s, another very good restaurant, is close by an only a few hundred yards from the iconic “Bomba’s Shack,” which is a must see for visitors, if only to drive by. Although I typically split my two weeks’ vacation and sail for the first week, it would be equally enjoyable to spend both weeks at this house. Rebecca was pleasure to work with and most accommodating. The house is well appointed and obviously well maintained. As dog lovers, we enjoyed having Rebecca’s new puppy, Cookie, come to visit each day. The hot tub was a bonus for my 70 year old bones. Will return at the next opportunity.
Having stayed at Turtle Dove cottage for 2 weeks, I can honestly say that this was one of our best holidays ever! The house is very comfortable and has everything you need for a perfect stay. The views are truly amazing and we could not get enough of it. We used the hot tub most nights to relax and did not feel the need to go out on many evenings, using the BBQ to cook our meals. It was lovely to sleep with the sound of the waves, waking up by the sunrise and seeing the beauty of the island from the bed. Rebecca was very approachable and a great help. It was reassuring to know that we could ask her anything if needed. The drive to the house is certainly steep as mentioned in previous reviews and remained a challenge throughout our stay but it would not stop us from wanting to come back and you do get used to it. The location was ideal with the beach within walking distance and Sopers Hole around the corner where there is a supermarket with sufficient choice. We visited most beaches and all of them are beautiful and not overcrowded. I really do not have any negatives to say but would advise to bring very strong insect repellent because the Mosquitos are aggressive!
